Blog #7: Antibiotics

Image result for pictures against antibiotics cows

Antibiotics are everywhere according to this picture. They even feed them to cows. This is a big no no!

It is a big no no, because many things can go wrong. One thing that can go wrong would be infections. The cows can develop infections, and they can be transferred to any worker. This even hurts humans.

Another terrible thing would be mad cow. "Mad cow disease, or bovine spongiform encephalopathy(BSE), is a transmissible, slowly progressive, degenerative, and fatal disease affecting the central nervous system of adult cattle." Mad Cow < Here is the website where I found this information.

In conclusion, antibiotics are terrible. They only cause hardships in the food industry. Many cows and people are being affected because they eat that meat.

  1. I am writing our next paper on antibiotic use in factory farming. I am terrified at the potential for super bugs due to the over use of antibiotics. In the nursing field, I see incredible illnesses that would not be happening if it were not for so much antibiotic use.
    So scary!

  2. Interesting topic, I like the detail you provided on how BSE slowly shuts down the adult cattle's central Nervous system.

  3. Very interesting topic. My paper is about organic and how it benefits but I was unaware of the medical devices used for animals in industrial warehouses. This is very scary.

  4. This is an intriguing comic you've used for this post. Don't forget to comment directly on the image you've centered this post around. "Mad Cows". This links into the way we treat the animals and how they might be feeling (not just emotionally but likely physically), etc. Dig deep and look for the connections between the obvious and the other messages being communicated.
